we have had 2 springers in the last 30 years. jason and max. jason was a 4 year old and lived till he was 17,he was blind in both eyes at the end but still enjoyed his live, max was 6 weeks old when we got him, he was a mammys boy. lived till he was 15 years old. back legs went in the end but what a very clever dog.we would love another springer but the parting with another at the end of their live is just too much to bear now,as we are both in our sixtys, but please keep up youre good work ,this is the first time i have seen your site. god love you all .

Hi everyone especially Aunty Barbara and Uncle Paul, Mum said I should let you know that I had an operation for cruciate repair on Tuesday and it went well. I have been back to see Uncle Ian this morning and he is very pleased with me as I am already putting my leg down and standing on it. he said it usually takes up to two weeks to get to where I am in 3 days. Mum is very happy with me.
She borrowed a big crate from Ruth so I can get away from the rest of the gang so they do not bang into me and so I can rest there while they go ou,t as I am not allowed out for walks yet and I really like it. Mum calls it Charlie's den. Mum gives me a pig's ear and other snacks while I am in my den.
It's also good at night as Mum has brought a small bed downstairs so she can sleep near me as usually I sleep upstairs in her room. Can't wait to get better though and go swimming again but for now the extra cuddles will do. Charlie from wigan.

Hi,
We already have a 2 year old springer but are considering getting her a companion as we think it is what she needs.
Please could you let us know how we go about rehoming a springer.
Kind Regards
Kirsten

Hi, please can you help me find a springer spaniel for my nan who is 80 on the 1st March. She had one before but he died of old age. My nan really misses Ben and wants another dog. Her heart is set on a springer spaniel again. Can you let me know if you have any suitable dogs for my nan? I live in Haverhill Suffolk, near Cambridge. Thank you

Just found your site and it's brilliant. We have just lost our 13 yr old cocker Amber, but still have our 11 yr old English Springer Jade. Like all springers she is 11 going on 2 and is loved dearly.
We are in our mid 60's and she keeps us young, with loads of outdoor stuff, weekends in cottages etc. I believe she will be eternally young. I will keep your lovely site in mind as when we lose our angel companion Jade, we will gladly adopt another elderly springer. They are without doubt, one of the most lively and friendliest breeds ever and we love them dearly. Maybe the people who spend alot of money on them as pups and then go on to reject them for bad behaviour should do a bit more research before taking them on. Even with thier inherent medical problems they will always be well worth the effort as their love is totally unconditional.
Kind regards, and keep up the good work

Hi there. I found this site whilst searching to offer a home for a spaniel. The site looks great and we will be adding our details to see if we fit your criteria to rehome one of your dogs. We have been looking for a spaniel for sometime as other family members have had springers and found them the ideal all-rounder family pet (and gun dog in some cases). Anyway, keep up the good work, and im sure we'll be back very soon. Regards

Hi there, Thanks for the suggestions but Charlie already takes tablets to help his joints however it has not stopped him developing arthiritis in his front left leg and unfortunately he has ruptured his left cruciate ligament badly. Ian our vet said he doesn't know how he isn't showing pain and how he is putting his back leg down at all. Him walking on it fairly well is the reason cruciate problems had not been expected before the Xrays were taken. We are back at the vets tomorrow while we plan his treatment. Will keep in touch. Margaret
I am enjoying being spoiled with extra treats however I hate being on lead all the time and my walks seems shorter. Still it means I get either Mum or Mark to myself for at least an hour as not able to go out with the others. Charlie. xx

To all those people who complain about not getting a reply to their messages.....
I don't work for Springer Rescue but I know these guys are so busy taking care of all the doggies who need help that they don't always have time to read the messages left on the site, the best thing to do is not leave another message to complain but pick up the telephone and actually speak to someone, it's not hard and they don't bite, in fact they are the most considerate people no matter what your plight is...
Please don't criticise, just call them and they'll help.
